Abstract

The study entitled “Re-examination of Tetraclita squamosa Bruguière, 1789 (Cirripedia : Balanomorpha) from southern Java Island” was conducted on November 2008 based on samples from southern coast of Java, from Watukarung Pacitan and Sundak Yogyakarta. The study was conducted by comparing morphological characters among populations of different species of Tetraclita from Central Indo West Pacific. Samples were taken during low tide and dissected in laboratory for morphological examination. Tergum and scutum then photographed using digital camera and used to measure the morphometry of the tergo-scuta using Sigma Scan Pro SYTAT software. PRIMER softare was employed to produce Multi Dimension Scaling (MDS) plot. The MDS plot used to examine the grouping pattern of all population samples of all species Tetraclita. Similarity percentage (SIMPER) was used to examine the contribution value of each morphological character for the group. The result suggests the T. squamosa population from southern coast of Java having highest variability in morphological measurement. It has closest relationship and morphological affinitiy to T. kuroshioensis from Okinawa.
